  • Is MBBS the right course option for me?

  • What is the eligibility criterion for MBBS entrance examination?

    You should have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks (40% in the case of SC/ST category) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and 50% marks in English.
  • Which college should I choose for doing MBBS Course?

    Choosing the medical college for doing MBBS course depends on your needs. The college that meets your demands adequately shall make your first choice. While choosing the college you don’t have to only look for its popularity & admission fees, but also have to keep in mind the factors like the quality & standard of education and the ease of getting into PG medical course.
  • Where & when can I apply for the colleges?

    You can apply for the college when the MBBS application form becomes available. You can directly visit the college and fill out the application form, or you could fill out the online application form available on the college website. If you face any problems or you are unable to go personally visit the college or you do not know how to fill out the application form online, no need to worry about it.   • Which all entrance examinations shall I appear for?

    There are separate entrance examinations for MBBS and MD/MS/Diploma medical courses.

    If you are seeking MBBS admission then you can appear for COMED-K, KRLMPCA, AIPMT and entrance exams conducted by deemed medical colleges. Karnataka state domiciles may also apply for K-CET in addition to all the above said tests.

    If you are seeking MD/MS/Diploma admission then you can appear for COMEDK-PGET, KRLMPCA PGCET, AIPGMEE and MD/MS/Diploma entrance exams conducted by deemed medical colleges. Karnataka state domiciles may also apply for PGET in addition to all the above said tests.

  • How are deemed medical colleges different from the other private medical colleges?

    Deemed medical colleges are autonomously run institutions. They enjoy complete autonomy in drafting their course work, syllabus and other project ideas. They can also set up their own entrance exams, admission rules, fee structures and seat matrix. If there is a need of change, they can enforce it. Whereas, other private medical colleges follow common rules and regulations set by the universities they are affiliated to.
  • Who can apply under management quota?

    Candidates seeking MBBS/MD/MS/Diploma admissions under management quota should have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination with at least 50% marks (40% in the case of SC/ST category) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and 50% marks in English. They should have appeared for entrance examinations conducted by private universities for medical admissions under management quota in private medical colleges.
  • What is the eligibility criterion to apply under NRI quota?

    Candidates seeking MBBS/MD/MS/Diploma admissions under NRI quota must have completed class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as subjects of study from an Indian board (CBSE/ICSE) outside India and received accreditation from National Board New Delhi. They should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December, of the year of admission to the course.
  • Who can apply under NRI quota?

    Any candidate who wishes to apply under NRI category for admissions to MBBS course shall be able to furnish the below.
      • Sponsor letter supporting expenses for MBBS admission from a blood relation staying abroad.
      • A USD transfer equivalent to at least 30 % of the complete MBBS course fee arranged from abroad.
      • Able to pay fee as subscribed under NRI category (which is usually way higher than the Management quota fee).
  • What are the documents required while attending the MBBS counseling?

      • Entrance Exam Rank/Score card
      • Test Admission Ticket (TAT)
      • Original S.S.L.C./Equivalent examination marks card.
      • Original P.U.C./Equivalent examination marks card.
      • Original B.Sc.,/Equivalent examination all the three years marks cards (in case of graduates)
      • Original Conduct/Character and Transfer certificate issued by the college last studied.
      • Original Date of birth certificate if not mentioned in the SSLC/Equivalent examination marks card.
      • Original Caste / community certificate (The certificate issued by competent authority).
      • Original Transfer certificate
      • Original Migration Certificate issued by the Board /University in case of candidates studied other than Karnataka State Board.
      • Recent passport size photographs.
      • Foreign Nationals seeking admission should obtain eligibility certificate issued by the University
      • DD’s of Nationalized Bank for Tuition fees.
  • Do foreign students need to appear for MBBS entrance examination?

    No. Foreign candidates can directly apply for colleges under foreign quota.
  • What is the minimum & maximum age limit for getting MBBS admission?

    The minimum age for getting MBBS admission is 17 years and the maximum age limit is 35 years.
  • Are the courses offered by Indian institutions recognized?

    Yes. The courses offered by Indian medical colleges are recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
  • For how many MBBS entrance examinations can I apply?

    There is no limit on the number of exams you can take.
  • Is there a separate hostel facility in medical colleges?

    Yes. A separate hostel facility for boys and girls is available in the colleges.
  • Do I have to appear for MCI screening test even if I have completed MBBS from Indian institution?

    No. MCI screening test is applicable for candidates who have completed their MBBS course abroad except for candidates who have completed their course from the universities of U.S., U.K, Australia, Canada & New Zealand.
  • Is there any facility for payment of MBBS fees in installments?

    No. Candidates have to pay the tuition fees for MBBS course as decided by the college administration on yearly basis.
  • What is the tuition fee for MBBS course?

    The fee for MBBS course will be at the sole discretion of the Institutes.
  • What is the procedure for MBBS admissions?

    You should meet the eligibility criteria set to apply for MBBS course. Based on your college preference, you should appear for entrance examinations conducted by Government or Private Universities. Once the entrance exam results are declared, you will be called for MBBS counseling on the basis of rank scored in the exam. You will be allowed to choose the college based on the availability of MBBS seats and will be allotted a seat. You will receive final allotment letter from the counseling committee. Once the MBBS counseling process is over and you are satisfied with the allotted college, you need to report to the allotted college on the date mentioned in the allotment order.
  • Do you assist in education loan?

    Yes. We will provide you assistance to avail education loan so that you don’t lose an opportunity to study in an institution of your choice.
  • How to apply for education loan?

    You can get the education loans from banks in your Parent’s name (preferably the earning member). Banks while providing you an education loan will be looking at your academic performance, the credentials of the college where you seek admission, your parents' repayment capability, etc. There are also specialized institutions which offer education loans. If you face any problems or you are unable to get the loan, we will provide you assistance to avail education loan so that you can study in an institution of your choice.
  • What is the eligibility criterion for your Scholarship program?

    We offer to arrange for competitive scholarship support from designated bodies including the colleges also for meritorious students seeking medical admission for under-graduate and post-graduate courses in medical colleges in Karnataka. The scholarships are usually awarded to the students on the basis of a combined analysis of qualifying exam, internal test scores and financial status.
  • Do you provide coaching for examinations?

    Yes. A crash coaching course pertaining to the MBBS exam applied for is arranged on demand for the candidates who apply through us. Our coaching is mainly aimed at preparing the students from the exam point of view so that awareness about patterns and the model is given to the enrolled students.
  • What are the documents I need to carry while coming for admissions in person to campus?

      • Seat Allotment Letter
      • Receipt of Paid Fee
      • Date of Birth Proof
      • Transfer Certificate (TC) from the Institution last attended and Conduct Certificate
      • Marks cards of all Qualifying Exams
      • Migration certificate, if applicable
      • Any other documents required to be produced before the Head of Institution
  • I have not appeared for any entrance examination. Am I still eligible to get a seat under management quota?

    In Karnataka, it is mandatory that you should have written at least any one of the qualifying exams conducted for or by the college for processing admission applications. However appearing for the exam does not guarantee a seat under merit but is an assurance for seeking a seat under management quota. Appearing for Exams and taking eligibility through it is one of the criteria’s for seeking seats under management quota.
  • How medical seats are distributed under govt., private, management & NRI quota?

    The seat allotment and distribution process varies from a college to college, roughly the percentage share under different categories is as Government: 40%, Private: 40%, NRI: 15% and Management: 5%.   • How to apply for PG entrance exam after completing MBBS?

    To apply for PG entrance exam, you should have completed your MBBS course from an institute recognized by MCI. You should have completed one year of compulsory rotating internship on or before 30th April 2015. You can apply by getting the application forms from the colleges or by downloading them online. If you face any problems or you are unable to apply for PG entrance exam, no need to worry about it. We will help you get the forms and also fill them for you.
